Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, we bought multiple units of an old and derelict building, which was home to a former nightclub, with the dream of turning it into a stylish kitchen showroom.

We had to first rip out the existing bar and toilet facilities and also restore the original herringbone flooring. We then set a list of works, which included the installation of new toilet facilities, partition walls to create display zones, high-end English and German kitchens to sell in partnership with leading kitchen suppliers, a segregated office space plus a full apartment-style demonstration suite equipped with kitchen, media centre, an aquarium and a mock bedroom.

We also installed remote controlled media and lighting to give the showroom a more modern feel and experience for customers who walked in looking to buy a kitchen from us.

Betta Living approached us with the task of transforming five distinct spaces into high-end kitchen, bedroom and bathroom showrooms, which included the conversion of three former retail units into standalone showrooms, as well as construction of two additional showrooms within operational garden centres. The project required full internal strip-out, structural reconfiguration, and complete interior fit-out, including tiling, decoration, wall construction and plastering.

All five showrooms were completed on time and within budget, which included all remedial work.

Homebase commissioned the development of a premium showroom on the mezzanine level of its flagship store. The goal was to create an inspiring, fully functional demonstration space that showcased a new range of modern German kitchens, complete with integrated lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, finishes, and accessories. The showroom needed to reflect Homebase’s evolving brand identity, elevate customer experience, and serve as a high-impact sales environment.

ABISS was commissioned to carry out the installation of two brand-new kitchenette areas within the head office premises. The scope of work involved a comprehensive fit-out of each space to enhance functionality and modernise the working environment. Each kitchenette was equipped with two fully plumbed sinks, ensuring convenient access to water for food preparation and cleaning. In addition, three tall housing units were installed to accommodate microwave ovens, providing ample capacity for staff usage during busy periods.

To further elevate the usability and aesthetic appeal of the spaces, a breakfast bar was incorporated into the design, offering a casual seating area for breaks or informal meetings. Generous storage solutions were also integrated to support the organisation of kitchen supplies and maintain a tidy, efficient workspace.

The entire project, including the installation of remote-controlled lighting systems for added convenience and energy efficiency, was completed within an impressive three-day timeframe.

As part of the strategic rollout of Homebase’s new development initiative, ABISS was selected as a key delivery partner to collaborate with one of Germany’s foremost kitchen manufacturers. This partnership was established to oversee and coordinate the seamless installation of premium, custom-designed kitchen units across a number of designated Homebase retail locations.

Leveraging its extensive project management expertise and technical installation capabilities, ABISS played a central role in ensuring that each retail site met the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. The collaboration not only enhanced the in-store customer experience but also strengthened Homebase’s position as a destination for innovative and design-led home improvement solutions.

Through careful planning, close coordination with suppliers, and precise on-site execution, ABISS successfully supported the rollout schedule while maintaining efficiency, consistency, and adherence to brand expectations across all participating stores.

ABISS was entrusted with the nationwide rollout project to replace discontinued bathroom displays across ten stores. This comprehensive undertaking encompassed a wide range of tasks, including the removal of outdated bathroom suites, detailed wall preparation, tiling, decorative finishes, and the installation of new, updated suites. The tiling work varied significantly across locations, ranging from full-suite wall and floor coverage to the fitting of bespoke panelling designed to enhance the visual appeal and functionality of each display.

To ensure the project was delivered efficiently and safely, ABISS developed a detailed programme of works tailored to each store’s requirements. All activities were scheduled to take place during trading hours, requiring careful coordination and the implementation of a robust health and safety plan. This plan was designed to safeguard installers, store staff, and customers throughout the duration of the works, maintaining a secure and professional environment.

Thanks to meticulous planning and execution, the entire programme was completed within the agreed timeframes, including any necessary remedial work. As a result, all stores were able to resume normal trading immediately upon completion, with minimal disruption and a refreshed bathroom offering ready for customer engagement

ABISS was awarded the national rollout of replacing all the discontinued kitchens across the whole estate. This involved various amounts of work, ranging from two to eight kitchens within each store.

A full program of works was developed in order to complete the review in 10 weeks. This included having to provide preferential treatment on applying certain dates to certain stores.

The works were to be undertaken during trading hours and included a full H&S program to ensure that the works were carried out in a safe manner for the installers, staff and customers. The total numbers of displays installed across all stores was around 110.

ABISS were also asked to undertake the consolidation of all deliveries from all suppliers, including kitchens, appliances, sinks and taps. This was completed in a designated warehouse and all deliveries were distributed to store in a just in time basis with all pallets wrapped and signed in a specific manner to ensure all stock was clearly identifed on site.

The program was completed on schedule and the the exact timeframes including remedial activity, ensuring all stores could trade immediately.

ABISS was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive bathroom refurbishment for the flagship John Lewis store on Oxford Street, involving updates to 90% of the store’s display units. The scope included the full removal and consolidation of sold ex-displays, followed by surface preparation, plastering, and decorative finishes using tiling and paint across all affected areas.

Working within tight spatial constraints and a demanding timeline, ABISS successfully coordinated a multi-skilled team to complete the entire revamp within one week. The project also encompassed bespoke joinery installations and a thorough final clean, ensuring the store was fully operational and presented to the highest standard.

We were commissioned to work in partnership with the principal contractor for John Lewis to support the delivery of a new, state-of-the-art kitchen showroom. This high-profile project involved the installation of 10 large kitchen display units, each requiring precise coordination with multiple stakeholders, including the main contractor, kitchen unit supplier, and specialist worktop provider.

Our team was responsible for ensuring that all elements of the installation were completed to a high standard, within a strict two-week timeframe. This required careful planning, clear communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to manage logistics, site access, and supplier schedules.

Despite the tight deadline and the complexity of the installation, the project was delivered on time and to specification. The showroom was completed successfully and opened to the public as scheduled, reflecting the effectiveness of our collaboration and commitment to quality.

Magnet approached us to assist with store change work involving the removal of discontinued kitchens and replacing them with new ranges. A relatively simple process for ABISS, which involved providing kitchen installation joiners and decoration to the areas affected. The decoration included the repair of existing walls.

ABISS provided a scope of works with timescales and a full H&S portfolio, including partitioning of the areas affected by the works whilst the store remained trading.

A disused former bank building was transformed into a high-end kitchen showroom, blending architectural character with modern luxury. The project involved reconfiguring the open-plan space with new partition walls to create distinct zones for kitchen displays, consultation areas, and storage. Care was taken to preserve original features such as high ceilings and stonework, while adapting the structure to support heavy kitchen installations and contemporary design elements.

The renovation included a complete overhaul of the building’s infrastructure. Electrical systems were rewired to accommodate high-powered appliances and integrated smart controls. A bespoke lighting scheme was installed to highlight textures, finishes, and focal points within each kitchen display, using a mix of recessed LEDs, pendant fixtures, and ambient lighting. Plumbing was upgraded to support live demonstration kitchens, with concealed pipework feeding sinks, taps, and filtration systems.

Several luxury kitchen displays were installed, each fully fitted with premium cabinetry, appliances, and accessories. Custom-built plinths and backdrops elevated the presentation, while decorative elements such as curated kitchenware, framed design sketches, and soft furnishings added warmth and sophistication. The result was a showroom that not only showcased high-end kitchens but also offered an immersive, aspirational experience for clients.

ABISS was commissioned to undertake the installation of a substantial, white, handleless flat-pack kitchen, which included integrated patio doors and flooring. In addition to this, the team was responsible for setting up a promotional bedroom suite on behalf of a prestigious Italian bedroom furniture manufacturer.

Following the initial installation, ABISS was tasked with carefully dismantling the entire display and reassembling it at subsequent venues as part of a coordinated national roadshow. This complex operation was executed twice more, with only a two-day turnaround between each event

ABISS was also asked to undertake some work in the area of Surrey Quays, London, transforming a retail unit into a high end, modern kitchen showroom. The project began with a full strip-out of the existing displays, fixtures and outdated electrical and plumbing systems. The client sought a complete transformation of the space to showcase premium products in a contemporary, aspirational environment. This initial phase required careful planning to minimise disruption to neighbouring units while ensuring the site was prepared for new partition walls, updated services and a fresh layout designed to improve customer flow and visual impact.

Once the space was cleared, the design and installation of high-end German kitchens became the central focus. Working closely with the showroom team, a series of bespoke layouts were created to demonstrate a variety of styles, finishes and configurations. The build involved installing new partition walls to define display zones, as well as fitting high-quality flooring and tiling throughout. All plumbing and heating works were upgraded to support multiple working displays, including premium sinks, taps and fully integrated appliances. This ensured each kitchen was both visually impressive and functionally accurate for customer demonstrations

To complete the transformation, the electrical systems were fully renewed, incorporating energy-efficient lighting, feature illumination and dedicated appliance supplies. Careful attention was given to decorative elements—painting, finishing details and visual styling—to create a polished, showroom-ready space.

A leading supplier of German kitchens sought to transform an underused section of their warehouse into a flagship customer-facing environment that would showcase premium German kitchens while also providing modern office space and a dedicated boardroom. The project involved the erection of an internal steel structure to create defined zones, along with fire-rated partitions, acoustic ceilings, and reinforced flooring. This provided the framework necessary to support both functional workspaces and multiple high-end kitchen displays.

Within the new showroom area, several premium German kitchens were installed, complete with integrated appliances, bespoke cabinetry, solid-surface worktops, and carefully designed service connections for plumbing, ventilation, and electrics. New offices were developed alongside the showroom, featuring glazed partitions, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, and full electrical and data cabling to support day-to-day operations. Toilet facilities were constructed with modern sanitaryware, robust plumbing, and proper ventilation, while the entire space benefited from upgraded lighting, emergency systems, and balanced mechanical services.

To complete the transformation, a fully equipped boardroom was created with a large oval conference table, ergonomic seating, and a wall-mounted HD TV supported by integrated audiovisual systems. The entire fit-out received high-quality decoration, flooring, branding, and accessories to create a cohesive, professional atmosphere. The finished project successfully converted a basic warehouse zone into an impressive showroom and administrative hub, enhancing customer experience and providing a functional, modern workspace for staff.

A modern kitchen, breakfast bar, and bespoke media centre were installed within a refurbished office block to create a multifunctional space that supports staff wellbeing, collaboration, and presentations. The kitchen features sleek beige gloss cabinetry, a dark wood-effect worktop, and an undermount stainless steel sink with a chrome mixer tap. Electrical and plumbing works included new ring main circuits, USB-equipped sockets, WRAS-compliant water feeds, and integrated appliances such as a fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. LED lighting was installed under cabinets and shelving, with natural light enhancing the space through large windows.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a breakfast bar was constructed using a matching dark wood surface and paired with modern bar stools, creating a comfortable area for informal meetings and breaks. Power outlets were installed along the bar for device charging, and the space was positioned beside a glass partition to maintain openness while offering acoustic separation. The flooring throughout was finished in grey-toned wood laminate, complementing the cabinetry and worktops while ensuring durability and easy maintenance in a busy office environment

The bespoke media centre was designed to support team briefings and presentations, featuring a wall-mounted smart TV framed by illuminated glass-front cabinets and a textured grey panel backdrop. Below the screen, a floating shelf housed AV equipment with concealed cable management. Integrated LED lighting added visual impact, while the surrounding cabinetry provided storage for tech accessories and decorative items. The project was completed within three weeks, delivering a cohesive, high-quality workspace that blends functionality with contemporary design.

An events management company based in Wimbledon, London, sought to revitalise their existing office space to better reflect their brand identity and support their growing team. The refurbishment began with the careful relocation of existing desks and chairs, ensuring business continuity while clearing zones for construction and redesign. This initial phase allowed the project team to map out improved workflows and circulation routes, setting the stage for a more functional and creative working environment.

A key part of the transformation involved enhancing the acoustic performance of the office. Acoustic panelling was installed throughout open-plan areas and meeting rooms to reduce noise transfer and create a more productive atmosphere—an essential upgrade for a company that frequently hosts planning sessions, virtual calls and creative workshops. Alongside this, a new canteen area was introduced, offering staff a modern, comfortable space for breaks and informal collaboration. Designed with durability and style in mind, it became a central hub for both relaxation and team interaction.

To complete the refurbishment, sleek and contemporary office and meeting areas were created, incorporating refined finishes and flexible layouts suited to the company’s dynamic workflow. All electrical systems were updated, including new energy-efficient lighting that enhanced both task and ambient illumination.

As part of a national retail refresh, ABISS was contracted to carry out full-scale installations of kitchen and bedroom displays across multiple Wren store locations. The project involved complete removal of existing displays and the construction of new showroom environments aligned with Wren’s latest design standards.

Each store installation included the full rip out of existing showroom displays, fixtures and fittings, plastering and surface prep ready for paint, tiling of kitchen areas, carpet fitting in bedroom zones for realistic customer experience, construction of partition walls to define display zones and improve layout flow, and finally plumbing and electrical integration where required.

Site surveys were conducted prior to each installation to assess layout, access and material needs. On-site supervision was provided to ensure quality control and adherence to H&S standards.

All installations were completed on time and within budget, including remedial work.
